Meerut- a city in National Capital Region. Situated in West U.P…the granary of India's biggest state. A city with a proud history and a great literary as well as artistic tradition. A city blessed with scores of high level educational institutions-universities, management Institutes, technical academies, vocational establishments - that cater to the needs not just of the region but of students coming in, from far and wide. It’s a city that has a void in the field of good media education for a very long time.
Indian Film and Television Institute (IFTI) situated in Meerut, seeks to fill the void. IFTI will not only cater to the areas geographically adjacent, but will surely attract students from all over the country.
Set in the sylvan surroundings of the institutional area on the Partapur Bye-Pass, Near Meerut, (National Highway 58), the five acre IFTI campus stands out for its architectural beauty and vastness. While phase-1 of the Institute has a floor area of about 90,000 sq ft, the plans are to increase the available area to about 150,000 sq ft with in the not so distant future. We have all seen, especially in the larger cities, how unscrupulous elements, functioning out of those little shops, rob gullible students of their hard earned or borrowed money by holding out false promises to educate them in disciplines that promise immediate rewards and good career prospects.
IFTI is an institution that sets out to put the needs of the students ahead of every other interest. It is in this background that the Institute has taken so many important steps: providing a learning ambience that encourages creativity and creating a campus that has all the facilities that a technical Institute must have. We are counted among professional radio jockey institutes, anchoring institutes, and video jockey institutes. Our professionals have years of experience and has given many RJ’s, VJ’s to the industry. Most of the courses on offer at IFTI have a career orientation, and therefore, the Institute has worked out alliances right across the media and entertainment industry so that the students and faculty frequently interact with the industry professionals. IFTI will, thus, ensure that there are no gaps between what is taught within the portals and professionally practiced outside.
