Jive is a dance style in 4/4 time that originated among African-Americans in the early 1940s.In Ballroom dancing, Jive is one of the five International Latin dances. The dance steps are actually derived originally from country dancing. this energetic dance started in New York and caught on across the country in the 40’s. The jazzy steps and moves of Jive is what make it so popular.
Jive can be done in a ballroom setting or with a swing band, making it a very versatile dance. The most noticeable aspect of jive it its speed.
Jive's music eventually developed its own flavor in the 1950's and 60's. It contains bouncy rhythms and easy melodies. In competitions, partners are often judged on the energy that they give to its performance, in addition to the steps.

Rahul Saxenna's Dance Connection
Rahul Saxenna has carved a niche for himself in the world of entertainment as an accomplished artistic director, educator, choreographer and dancer. He has been a pivotal figure in the dance world for over fifteen years.
He began his career with a certified acting course with Prof. Roshan Taneja and soon was selected by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited as one of the top ten male finalists in India, through the Talent Hunt Search. In the same year, renowned producer and director Mr. T. Rajendra spotted his talent and completed a South Indian Movie “MONISHA” with him in a lead role.
For him, “Dancing is a form of artistic expression allowing an individual to be in touch with his inner self.” This propelled him to learn various other dance forms. Having specialized in various Latin American dance forms by now his hobby saw a new face. He then bridged the gap between Latin American dance forms and the conventional Indian dance forms, bringing both the audiences together. He founded and saw the formal incorporation of a western dance institute, now popularly known as RSDC. Since then there has been no looking back for him. From the time of the establishment of the institute, till date, he has trained more than 15,000 students.
With the Vision to broaden his horizons Mr. Rahul Saxenna has cut a music album in which he has also rendered his voice, another natural gift bestowed upon him by the almighty god. The video has been made to promote the likes of Latin American Salsa, Break Dance and Hip-Hop moves blended with Bollywood Dances which has never been showcased in any Indian Music Video ever before.
